The gold stripe version was the standard model with 40 piece run while the silver stripe version was a 12 piece run. These are not standard liveries on the Matchbox International School Bus model. The olive drab model (lower model) was a special livery model made for the last Matchbox USA convention to be held at the Hotel Thayer on the West Point army base. Hence, the US Army related theme to the model. Hidden as part of the model's deco, 06181988 stood for 06/18/1988 or June 18, 1988 - the date of the convention dinner. 7th stands for the seventh annual convention. CT stands for the US state of Connecticut - home to the founder of the Matchbox USA club, Charlie Mack. MB, of course, stands for Matchbox. The upper model has a lighter shade of green and was issued in a rare Commandos multipack sourced from China. It loses the star on the hood and replaces it with the Strike Team logo from the series. The star on the rear is removed as well. But strangely, the model keeps the more unique deco pertaining to the 1988 Matchbox USA convention. The Commandos series was not released until 1989 - a year after the 7th Matchbox USA convention. When the line was released it did not include the School Bus.
