There has been a lot of confusion and improper use of the term ‘Power Clean’. So just to make things clear about the difference between a “Clean” and a “Power Clean”. A Clean is where you fully squat in the receiving position while a Power Clean is where you receive the load with your thighs at or above parallel.
The Power Clean tests your ability to pull the load higher than what you do in a normal ‘Clean’ and it also requires you to have a more explosive second pull.

You train 5, 6 or even 7 times a week, but do you give your body the recovery it needs to get the most out of your sessions?

Recovery is so important for muscle growth and injury prevention. Simple things you can do to improve your recovery include getting at least 7.5 hours of sleep, drinking 2 or more litres of water a day, stretching (see a previous post of mine for the benefits of this), eating the correct food and much more.

On top of doing all of this, BCAA’s from @international_protein can assist in increasing your recovery both during your sessions and after. Including these in your workouts and post workout will assist in muscle soreness, reduce fatigue meaning you can push further in your session, prevent muscle wasting and increase your hydration with added electrolytes.
