Did you know it’s Mental Health Week
.
With some of the closest people I have in my life struggling at the moment and a few that are celebrating mental health related wins it’s important to look at what we can do as a community in WA to help ourselves and be there for others ....
.
@mentalhealthweekwa And @livinorg Have some great advice and ways to start conversations to help others or yourself. Its funny as a community we place a lot of effort into putting in time to take care of the physical but often the mental needs just as much attention.
.
Make this week the week you reach out to someone that may be struggling or the week to reach out for yourself !
.
Ps this quote from @livinorg .
Be KIND to yourselves! ✊
“Slimming World helped me achieve my dreams, and it can help you, too!” Like Dann (@DannSully_SW), so many of the 60,000 men we support tell us they feel on top of the world after losing weight. Yet, we know there are barriers that prevent some men from starting. This Men’s Health Week, we’re encouraging all men who may be struggling with their weight to take those first steps towards transforming their lives. #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #MensHealthWeek #SWMen #MondayMotivation #motivation #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldUK
“I wasn’t the only man in the room either – in fact, plenty of men go to group!” While we support men like Shaun (@FuzzyBeardy) – who was last week crowned our Greatest Loser 2018 after losing 20st 12.5lbs – we know that just 21% of men see slimming groups as a socially acceptable way to lose weight. Our #SlimLikeAMan campaign celebrates the success of our male slimmers, and shows how, with support, men can transform their lives too! #MHW2018 #MensHealthWeek #SWMen #MondayMotivation #motivation #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldUK
“The before picture (on the left) was taken on day one of my Slimming World journey. As someone who has always played sport, I couldn’t believe I’d let my body get out of shape. The after picture was taken the day I got to my target weight, and I love being able to see the difference between the two photos. I encourage everyone to take pictures from all different angles when you begin your journey, so that you can really see your progress. It’s not all about the number on the scales!” – Dann (@dannsully_sw) lost an incredible 5st 2lbs, and wants to inspire other men to achieve their weight-loss goals too. Today, he’s taking over our Instagram to share his story as part of Men’s Health Week 2018! #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #SWTakeover #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldMen #SWMen
“I’ve shared my weight-loss journey with my wife Rachel – the mother of my two daughters (Emma, 5, and April, 1). Rachel was the reason I followed the doctor’s advice and joined Slimming World. I really couldn’t believe how much food I could eat and still lose weight, so eventually I went along myself. Rach is now a target member too, having lost over 3st! I’ve learnt how to cook through Slimming World – much to Rachel’s relief – and now I cook the majority of our meals. Setting a healthy example to our children gives me confidence that they won’t have the same issues with their weight that I’ve had, which is a huge weight off my mind.” #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #SWTakeover #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldMen #SWMen
“This is the tattoo I had done to celebrate my weight loss! It’s only very recently completed. It’s of a phoenix, and represents the feeling of being reborn. I chose to have this on my ribs so that every time I take my shirt off I am reminded of my journey. It’s also a great reminder to stay on track, and enjoy life to the fullest!” #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #SWTakeover #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldMen #SWMen
“The idea that slimming groups are ‘women-only” is completely wrong. As a man who works in the building trade as an electrician, I once believed that slimming groups weren’t the place for men. How wrong was I! Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan works as well for men as it does for women – I can eat as much meat, pasta, and potato as I like. This photo was taken during my Slimming World photoshoot – my modelling debut! I was so uncomfortable and awkward at the beginning of the photoshoot, but by the end I was so happy that they’d convinced me to go – it showed me that it’s okay to move out of your comfort zone and to enjoy new things. I especially like this photo because Slimming World’s #SlimLikeaMan campaign has become massively important to me, and I use the hashtag on all of my social media posts. #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #SWTakeover #SlimmingWorld #SlimmingWorldMen #SWMen

“Wearing a suit at my sister’s wedding was a goal I’d been working towards since the very beginning of my weight-loss journey. I’d never been able to wear a suit before, so it was a big source of motivation – and a massive achievement when I did it! Big social events were always tough. I’d hide in photos and wouldn’t enjoy myself, but now I can confidently get suited and booted and live life to the fullest! As I’ve lost weight, the one thing that has grown is my smile – I wear it everywhere I go.” Jack (@towers_weightjourney) has lost over 18st, and loves the new happiness his weight loss has brought him! Today, he’s taking over our Instagram to share his incredible story, with the hope of inspiring other men who want to lose weight to take their first steps! #SlimLikeAMan #MHW2018 #MensHealthWeek #SWTakeover #SlimmingWorld #BeSnapHappy #SlimmingWorldMen #SWMen
