This is so amazing. Part of the reason I been living in the hospital with my lil preemie Angel is to learn how to breast feed, pump and get him going on a strong road ahead. I am 100% committed. Finally had time to read this incredible book and I thought I’d take some time to share it with you! It’s hard to find the right words as it’s as equally beautiful as it is emotional. Baby loss is such a difficult topic to have conversations about and particularly as I’m entering a career where bereavement care is SO important, this book was so beneficial to give a true insight from a mummy herself. It reminds you that not every baby gets to come home and that sometimes asking “when are you going to have a baby?” or “when are you having your next one?” can be very difficult for some to answer. I was desperate to read this book, not because I’ve experienced loss but because I’ll be caring for those who have, and a student or a midwife can have such a big impact on those families. I’m sure I’ll still struggle in finding the right words, but at least now I’ll know that saying nothing at all can be worse and such a simple thing of saying these babies’ names can make a real difference. Teddy’s story will stay with me throughout my training and career, so thank you to Elle for sharing his life with us in this way.
