It’s one of those days, you can’t just deal with! Honestly, I blame it mostly on my hormones. . . We need to be conscious about it, and understand that when you’re going thru those days, you are a bit more vulnerable, more irritable and see things darker than they really are! So, No! You are not a depressed, mad woman, you are just on your period! ‍♀️ . . I ask this to my friends all the time whenever they tell me they are depressed. Are you on your period? If you are, give it some time and if you don’t feel better in a few days, then we can talk again (of how much of a looser you feel.) I assure you, after a few days we go back to talk about it, and those thoughts are gone . . Don’t get me wrong is not an excuse to behave like a “mad woman” try and lift yourself up, to feel better but If you just can’t, then just crawl in your bed watch a RomCom eat some ice cream, talk to your girls and give it 3-4 days before you assume you need medication. *Spoiler Albert: we did not meet on Match.com* Today marks a milestone in my life, 5 years ago today I met the man that would eventually change my life. ❤️ This is a big deal for me because before I met my husband, I never stayed in a relationship longer than a year. I realized that I don’t know if I ever really shared how I met David so I’m not sure how much you know but I thought I’d share with you how it went down. As most of you know, in my former life, I worked in radio. One thing I did on occasion was share stories about my life on-air. Well lucky for me, I was living in a condo that I rented out from a creepy old man. I would talk about the crazy things that would happen ever now and then. Little did I know, David was listening on the other end. He was commuting between Phoenix and Flagstaff one day and happened to be channel surfing. He landed on my station the exact moment I was on air. He heard me tell my story and for SOME reason he thought that he wanted to get to know me. I used my real name on-air so he was able to find me on Facebook. He messaged me and asked me out. I was in a place in my life where I was just getting back into the dating world and was open to any and EVERY possibility. When David told me he was 10 years older than me, divorced with 2 kids….I seriously thought to myself this would be a “practice date” because it clearly wouldn’t go anywhere. Well the first minute I met him, that immediately changed and I have not regretted saying yes to my practice date since then. I’m proud to say we have a very solid relationship that we have built over the last 5 years. We’ve had highs and lows but just deeply love each other in the core of it. ✨Here’s to 5 years, 2 kids but really 4, 1 house and 1 amazing marriage. ✨

I walked into a meeting a couple of minutes late first thing this morning, ready for some more flagellation. Instead, I heard, “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle.” It took everything in my being not to lose it. I had been so unkind to myself. The past year has been the most demanding of my life, and I haven’t given myself enough grace. So tonight, with no classes, or board meetings, or other commitments, we went for a walk as a family. My only exercise today was following Josie on the playground. It was the healthy reminder I so needed. I’m not failing. In fact, my kids think I’m pretty great. So, don’t be beaten down by a tough day, week, month, or even year. Be proud, stay hungry, and by God, keep showing up.
