Since I’ve been here, one of our homework tasks is to change up some of our habitual habits. We get so stuck in our ways and we do our daily tasks in a similar way over and over again. It leads us to doing them in an unmindful, robotic way. So to spice things up, I decided to start brushing my teeth with my left hand instead of the right. It might seem silly but it requires so much more attention, awareness and presence. If I’m not paying attention, I end up using my right hand again automatically. I also found out that I don’t evenly distribute weight on my feet but I put more weight on the inner arches which leads to having flat feet and can turn the knees inwards. This small action of changing how we place the weight on our feet can have big impacts on our whole posture and stance. I find it fascinating how so many things can pass us by without us even realising that it’s a habit. I invite you to try doing something a little differently today, even if it’s just brushing your teeth with the other hand or noticing how you place your feet. These small things eventually lead to bigger and more noticeable changes. Good night! ❤️
