#allofarchitecture Valley is designed by @mvrdv and will be located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. #valley #mvrdv #amsterdam. . The building is already in progress and was the competition entry which speared ahead. The whole idea of this mixed use development is to bring back the charm of old residential quarters. This building consists of 196 apartments, 7 stories of offices, three stories of underground parking and various other retail and cultural facilities. With three volumes peaking at sky, almost reaching heights of 100m,this building offers spectacular panoramic views of the city. With an intention to create a unique visual experience for each of its viewer, the architects have tilted spaces, tesselated them and taken them slightly off grid. Resultant is this very vibrant dynamic building which brings back the focus where it should belong, to people and their dwellings. The pockets of green are refreshing and add a whole lot of life to this mammoth of a building.

The sibling buildings, the Wonderbox and Nightclub, share an architectural language; both becoming an echo of their family, the immediate surrounding buildings. A golden spot floating over the building and the plaza in front boldly marks the Nightclub entrance; a blast of light before the contrasting dark interior. . @mvrdv’s The Imprint is part of the larger Paradise City complex of 6 buildings in total, which will provide a full suite of entertainment and hotel attractions less than a kilometre away from South Korea’s largest airport. Given the proposed programme of the 2 buildings – a nightclub and indoor theme park – the client required a design with no windows, yet one that still integrated with the other buildings in the complex.
