Сейчас в Мьянме на озере Инле стали практиковать "цеплять" развижные сьемные кольца на всех подряд без разбора - шанок, пао, инта - и сажать их в сувенирные лавки для привлечения туристов. Но настоящих падаунгов ни с кем не перепутать - их черты лица резкие, несколько грубые, не скрашенные миловидной округлостью, отдаленно напоминают черты североамериканских индейцев. Автохтонные аборигенные этносы тем и характерны. Так что если увидите реальную (в европейском понимании красоты) красотку с кольцами - знайте, это не "настоящий"падаунг.

The best of Myanmar is what you can't reach by car. We did 3 full days of trekking in the mountains, with the local and incredible guide, Pan. She dreams of, one day, opening a restaurant with tradicional food, and I have to say she has the skills for it. Every night we would stop in a mountain village, and a local would share their house with us, but Pan would be the one cooking for us. I found cherry blossom in Bagan! Needless to say , I was pretty stocked to find these blossom trees in Bagan ,obviously they aren’t the real but are as pretty as them.. some of the trees are white while others have a mix of pink and white .. anyone knows the name?
