02.24.2019, Walima. You won’t believe it, but I didn’t see or try on my walima dress until the night before. I wasn’t even worried about it, to be honest, because I knew my mother-in-law would never get anything made that was less than spectacular, but dang, she truly blew me away! @shahbibi Absolutely loved all the thought put into it, from the detailing to the unique colors (kudos to @suggy_official for bringing her vision to life!). What made this dress even more special, though, was that the border of my peshwas was made from the border of her lehenga from her own big day. ❤️ I truly felt like I princess, despite the lack of princess-y beauty sleep and rest (I’ll share more about the barat dress when I get the pics, pray for their quick arrival hehe)

Me before the wedding (on 20 different occasions): “Shahzeb? Will you dance at the wedding?” @shahzebkg (every time): “Nope.” Me: “But I love it when dulhas dance, come on.” Shahzeb: “.... nah.” Me: *gives up hope* Shahzeb, on the day of the wedding as we are enjoying all the dances: suddenly stands up, UNBOTTONS his sherwani & says “this one is for you” with a wink Me: *huh what hain kya* Shahzeb: goes to the dance floor and KILLS it with this mind blowing performance full Bollywood style as Zoha fangirls and screams her lungs out (“omg omg that’s my man”) BEST memory from my wedding! I still can’t believe it babe. Didn’t know you had this side to you. Glad I married you (oh and you were great too @shahmirkg ) #myweddingstory #zohawedsshahzeb #bestsurpriseever #thatsmyhusband #malhari #dance #mehndidance #shaadi #fangirl #nevergettingoverthis #ranveersinghwho #mashaAllah #thatsmyman #pakistaniwedding

*Last Part /1)* . Keeping in mind the age difference between Fahad and I which is of 8 years, I used to be very scared. That's like almost a generation gap. . I always wanted less age difference but time has changed my perspective. . The gap only matters if the two people are worlds apart in the way the way they are: their personalities, their way of living life, and many more factors. . But with us, it was the mindset that bonded us during the engagement period and of course after shaadi. . During engagement period, I've seen around me how couples feel like they MUST fall in love now as there's no other option left. . But I was firm. I didn't want to just fall in love with a person like that. We never said the three words to each other throughout the mangni. Not once. There was too much respect that started off first and that is the first brick of any relationship at all! All the girls and guys reading this, don't think that love is the first and foremost necessity to survival. It isn't. Respect is. . Khayr so enough bhashan . As you can see in this picture, I am completely ignoring miaan and posing for a picture ‍♀ I mean can you blame me? Mera valima tha akhir . When I called him pehli dafa, it was his birthday and I obviously wanted to wish him. Engagement was on 6th September and his birthday on 26th November. Yes there was no contact at all of any kind in between . I used to be so angry k bhaye wth? Larkon ko tou bari jaldi hoti he baat karnay ki. Lekin ye kia scene hai? Tou iska reason ye tha k Fahad has no sisters. And he lived with his ammi only. And being a shy, mature and responsible kinda guy, he was obviously too careful with all the khandani shenanigans and couldn't ask anyone for the number. Cousins etc se bhi nahi keh saktay thay becharay . So since my ammi and sister would often visit them, like at least once in 2 months, I asked my sis k bhaye boy ka number laado . She did. Bas tou number agya and I called full bharam me raat k 12 bajay and wished him Happy Birthday . We talked a WHOLE HOUR . Lekin us k bad we never talked again. . We just spoke in fur fur angrezi. Discussed random stuff and nothing personal...

02.21.2019, Nikkah. Compared to what you would expect, I made a very calm bride-to-be (all I cared about were the dances haha), but the night before my nikkah, which had fallen on my birthday by pure coincidence, I couldn’t fall asleep. My brain was running at a million miles per minute, my stomach clenched with nerves. It was a strange and new whirlwind of emotions perhaps only marriage can bring upon a person, and I couldn’t even pinpoint why I felt the way I did (or how I felt, for that matter). I was about to enter the biggest decision of my life, and prayed to God for His barkat. But then came the day, and this one messaged me when he woke up: “SUP WIFE TO BE!? Are you excited!?”, followed by “LET’S DO THIS”. I laughed as my nerves and anxiety melted away and an overwhelming feeling of peace and happiness suddenly flooded my heart. For the rest of our wedding, I didn’t worry about a thing. So much didn’t go the way it should have, but none of it mattered. All I knew was I was marrying my best friend in the world with the blessing of my parents, and I had never seen him as happy and excited and endearing and HANDSOME as he was that day, and there was nothing more I could ask for. It was perfect ❤️ I love you, hubbydubdub @shahzebkg #myweddingstory #nikkah #bride #desiwedding #desibride #nikkahbride #zohawedsshahzeb #mashaAllah #Alhamdulillah #zohakibatain #love #hubster : @waseemikphotography

Growing up, I NEVER thought I’d wear red on my wedding! But when it came time to choose my dress, and I had already spent 2 of the three months we had being indecisive and looking at thousands and thousands of neutrals and pastels, I was feeling a lot of pressure . Aunty then said she loves brides in red, and somehow something clicked in my brain. I started looking at red joras and decided I wanted one, but not the typical flashy red with lots and lots of kaam you see today. I wanted something a bit more regal, timeless and traditional, with deeper tones and flattering cuts. This dress turned out beyond my dreams, and I felt like a true dulhan in it (in a good way hehe). I paired it with simple hair and makeup (couldn’t do red lipstick as Shahzeb doesn’t like it ), and my Mama’s jewelry from her wedding repurposed (which wasn’t part of the plan, but coincidentally its design matched the motifs on my lehenga exactly!) My advice to the ladies choosing for their big day: just listen to your gut, don’t pay attention to everyone telling you something isn’t right, and don’t overthink it. Jab dil ajaye, finalize it and don’t look back. Oh and, after you’re married, tab your brain will suddenly become a lot more creative hehe. (Finally got pics wooo, will be sharing more and more soon!)

02.24.2019, Walima. One thing i knew from the beginning was that I wanted my looks on the barat and walima to be completely different, and am glad we achieved that! Obviously, the hair helps , but we also made sure the dress styles and colors, my jewelry and my makeup were all different. For my walima, I decided to go for a glowier makeup look with a smokey eye and love what @sadaffarhanofficial came up with!
