New discovery alert The Cedarmere-Clayton Estates in Roslyn, New York! Clayton (pics 1-4) was built in 1900 for Congressman Lloyd Bryce and was designed by architect Ogden Codman Jr. In 1919, Henry Clay Frick purchased the home for his son Childs, who, after renovating it and expanding it, lived there with his family until his death in 1965. It’s now home to the @nassaumuseum and is open Tues-Sun . Cedarmere (pics 5-8) was the home of poet William Cullen Bryant, who had purchased the property (including the future site of Clayton) in 1843. Located behind a high stone wall on a 7-acre parcel, the grounds include a pond, boathouse, mill, and gardens.
