Here is the simplest, yummiest, most summery bourbon cocktail:⁣ ⁣ Whiskey Smash⁣ ⁣ 2 oz bourbon⁣ a big handful of fresh mint⁣ 1/2 small-med lemon, cut into chunks⁣ 2-3 tsp sugar, to taste⁣ ⁣ Muddle mint, lemon, and sugar. Add bourbon and shake with ice. Double strain over fresh ice. Well it’s #NationalBourbonDay so naturally I’m celebrating with… @Patron tequila! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No disrespect to bourbon or whiskey, but I’ve come to generally prefer agave spirits. I’ve even been taking a few classic whiskey cocktails & swapping out the whiskey for a tequila or mezcal. It works especially well with a good añejo tequila (añejo = aged). So to celebrate Bourbon Day, here’s my take on a classic Old Fashioned, but sans bourbon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Patron Añejo Old Fashioned ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 oz @Patron Añejo 1 tsp agave nectar 3 dashes molé bitters 2 dashes aromatic bitters Orange zest for garnish ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Combine ingredients in a mixing glass & stir with ice. Strain over a large cube in a rocks glass. Celebrating our unaltered bourbon-barrel-aged rum in a refreshing swizzled up cocktail. Happy National Bourbon Day! “Grander Swizzle" Ingredients- 2 oz Grander Rum 1 oz Pineapple Juice 1 oz Orange Juice 1/2 oz Lime Juice 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters Splash of Grenadine Preparation- Add all ingredients into a Collins glass with crushed, except grenadine. Stir vigorously with a swizzle stick for 30 seconds, then add a little more crushed ice and a splash of grenadine + garnish with orange wheel.
