Alright I think you’ll be really happy with this video. I freshly refilled my TWSBI 580AL Emerald fountain pen (with medium nib) with Diamine Golden Ivy and I rolled the pen in my hands before I wrote to make sure the shimmering particles mixed well with the ink. Here’s what the ink truly looks like when you have a fresh fill! You can see from the lines and numbers that the sparkles show more the longer it dries, but immediately after the words. I think this is because it took a moment for more of the sparkles to be saturated into the feed since I had the pen stored upright, so when I went to write Saturday the gold bits were laying down nicely! The last couple of videos featured the ink after months of use and most of the shimmering particles had been used up due to writing. My theory is that since the shimmering particles are heavier than the ink, they tend to go a lot more quickly in the beginning and then after writing for a while, you’ll progressively have less shimmering bits, but still some as you could see in the last video. Just remember to roll the pen in hand to show more of the lovely sparkly bits! This is one of my favorite inks now Now you can fully appreciate why.
