【Part I: Tuck Review】 Mongol Empire Playing Cards: Ilkhanate (limited 1000) Designed by Tewodros Getenet Produced and Printed by #NoirArt #NPCC Features of tuck: 1. Pearlescent material 2. Complete gold foil embossing 3. Full-bleed backside print 4. Custom seal 5. Gold foil interior design Gold foil embossed on pearlescent tuck paper, what is a more complete combination? The Mongol Empire playing cards was a recent Kickstarter fulfillment by Noir Arts, celebrating the Mongolian Kingdom in its glorious past. The front of the tuck shows a single golden spade with a warrior riding his stallion in it.The borders of the spade is broken by the sword and the warrior's flowing hair. On one of the sides it states the name of the deck while the other side has the emblem of the empire along with half of a mounted warrior. It is expected that with the complete set of the series (Ilkhanate and Golden Horde) it forms a full image of the warrior, completed with a separate emblem on the Golden Horde deck. A golden eagle with a pair of horse heads sit upon the tongue flap, stretched all the way to its edges. The same nearly borderless design goes with the back design: a full array of gold foiled symbols and artwork that display the luxury of such an empire state. It is unbelievable how detailed the artwork can be considering its gold foil printing, for no details have been lost to the extent that tiny snake-like handles of swords can be identified with ease. Arrows and wooden planks complete the four borders; an eagle sits on the "Mongol Empire" sign within the iconic tent dwelling of their nomadic lifestyle. Swords are stuck into the royal emblem at the center of the design, reminding me of the The Throne of Iron in the Game of Thrones. The artwork is simply amazing.
