Hi Friends and soon to be Friends! ❤ Yesterday turned out to be such a beautiful day after a long stretch of moody and also rainy days here in Berlin. So that made me wanna go to my favourite park and paint there. I actually brought a little canvas for me to do a study of a pretty corner of that park, but I forgot that you need to prime that canvas before using it with gouache. Call that a fail. So I pulled out my sketchbook and finished up an eye study that I started earlier that day The flower still needs some working on, but that on another day. I find gouache so forgiving and nice to work with although I always struggle to mix up the right colors - due to the color shift when drying. Hey Friends! My sketchbook has been worked recently. I went in with a lot of gouache and studied some photographs and also life (two bottom ones). Before that I mainly used it for our weekly figure drawing sessions and so it was pretty boring to flip through for me. (still nice, but not overly exciting ) But since I decided to do more studies it is welcoming you with some color which makes me really excited to use it more and also to flip through it, which in return usually inspires me more So only good things. BTW I decided to feature some art supplies in my favourite colors, bc they make a big difference for me. I enjoy sketching much more since using them. I WANT to use them. So if you have been holding back on some colors bc you didnt want people to get a certain impression of you.. just f**k it and have fun.
