Yesterday I started messing around with some beats and came up with some ideas for what could develop into more. Tbh recently I've been not as excited about making music (something that's been a constant in my life since 2007). It's not that I don't love music and making music , rather a product of circumstance. For folks who don't know I used to sing before I ever rapped and due to severe vocal chord damage I had to stop singing which is how I started rapping and also probably why my voice sounds the way it does... Anyway, as years go by my voice gets worse and worse and that can be hella discouraging for me and I wind up feeling like what I'm writing isn't good enough. It's strange to have passion for something and to not see the results you would like to from it. Also to feel like you have a gift one moment and watch it fade in the next. Because I became so sick at one point and suffered vocal damage I eventually got into health and fitness and science which is how I developed my passion in those fields and eventually went back to college. These days school keeps me busier than I've been in years and I'm still trying to find a healthy balance between writing, training, full time school and full time work. Wanted to post this to let everyone know I'm just a human like the next person. We're all going through variations of the same thing in life and that's what music allows me to express. I call my sound Conversation Raps cause I'm just spittin in a way that allows for you to get to know me and for me to be raw, honest, vulnerable and more importantly myself...
