She truly blew me away with her kindness & aloha, and I have really enjoyed getting to know her through this little platform called instagram. I love how it brings us all together, and how we can share and become like ohana even from afar. Mahalo @girl_loves_sea for sharing your Aloha with me this week! It truly made me smile more than you know!✨☀️. . And of course I am a little late to the party with my post, but what can I say...we operate on island time out here. My first sea fan, found a couple weeks ago☺️ . Sea fans are a type of soft coral that are often found in warm waters and around reefs. There are also soft corals that live in deep waters, this is what we have here in Southern California. These are colonial animals that have a beautiful, branching structure that is covered by a soft tissue, similar to small-polyp stony corals. . These cryptic animals feed on microscopic organisms that flow in ocean currents. Unlike warm-water corals, they don't require sunlight as a source of nutrition. Their beautiful forms and structures, unique adaptations, cold and dark environment, and supporting role for the larger deep-sea ecosystem are trade marks of an underwater world we know almost nothing about... .
