Finally found my running mojo again!! ♀️ Since about Nov last year I've been having to drag myself out for runs and often gave up half way - not for any good reason - I just couldn't be bothered to carry on! This upset me because I've always loved running.
I've finally realised that it was because I was feeling overwhelmed and tired from all the stress I was creating for myself in the rest of my life!
So I sat myself down and had a good loooong chat with myself...and it worked!! Turns out that I just needed a weekend of lying around, walking through a forest and eating A LOT of unhealthy food
Now to remember that I choose to create my own stress and not fall into that stupid trap again

Education Tip/Exercise: Overhead work

It’s is important when doing any overhead pressing or pulling to first release the shoulders and pec muscles. Doing so prior to lifting overhead, followed by activation of your lower traps and rhomboids will help to reduce tension during any overhead movement. Resulting in a more efficient movement pattern.

Give this little exercise a try. You could substitute the band and dowel for a stretch within a door frame!

If you are experiencing any shoulder pain it is recommended not to do any overhead work and have a physiotherapist diagnose your injury and develop a specific rehab program for your shoulder.
