A 55-year-old man  was bitten by a X snake  or talla equis, 6 months ago in the colombian jungle. Bothrops atrox  is a highly venomous pit viper species ranging from southern Mexico to northern South America and is considered to be one of the most dangerous snakes in the western hemisphere. He  was admitted to a local hospital in an unconscious state and with posterior hematemesis. He had an indetermined PT and TPT. At the hospital the anti–snake venom serum was administered, as well as supportive care. He  regained consciousness 24 hours after the snake bite and 4 days  later reported decreased visual acuity in both  eyes. Actual visual acuity 20/FC 3 mt OD and 20/FC 2 OS. Ophthalmological examination disclosed unremarkable anterior segment and normal intraocular pressures in both eyes. Fundus examination show  lipid exudation and pigmentary epitelim alteration in both eyes .
