Let’s talk strength . These people pick me up when I’m feeling down. They know when to hug me, when to make me laugh and when to leave me alone! . Yesterday was a hard day for me. I was on “ding overload” and I couldn’t get myself to step away. If Aaron wasn’t here, I would have had a full blown panic attack, but yesterday thanks to him stepping up, taking my place at the bedside, I got away with just taking a time out and having a good cry. Toren and Alaina are taking care of the houses and the dogs and they are doing a perfect job! . I also wanted to extend my thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the whole 13 year journey. I just wanted to share a bit of my gratitude I wrote on another post regarding my breakdown yesterday: . Thank you to every single one of you! You have all been so amazing in this crazy journey! You know, it’s so crazy how “easy” it’s been to be strong during surgeries that are planned. I have time to prepare and get my worries out of the way. This surgery, although we always knew it would happen, still came when we least expected it! Dominic was still recovering from the flu, we were home for 30 mins before having to return to California, and our adrenaline was crazy high for a very long time. It was time for all of my emotions to come to the surface. Of course I would wait until Dominic was stable and doing well until I would allow myself the moment to break down. But it finally happened. My nurses have been incredible, our doctors the same! Today just happened to be the day that I sat and looked hard at the face that is heart transplant. It’s hard but we can do hard things... and this is nothing compared to what the sweet family who donated life to us is going through. (That also played a part of my day btw) I’m forever grateful to them, and to you all who lift us up in love and prayer and happy thoughts! Thank you 1 million times over.
