What is your greatest takeaway from shows like: @cbcdragon, @sharktankabc, and @apprenticeuk?
For us, it’s always the questions and commentaries made by Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors on these shows:
1- Why did you pick that product name?
2- Are you a product or a service company?
3- How does your product work?
4- What makes your product unique?
5- What else comes with your product?
6- Why are you different than your competition?
7- Why are you better?
8- Can anybody else do what you do?
9- Is there a lot of competition?
10- Who is your target audience?
11- What makes you think consumers want this product?
12- How big is your team?
13- How do you plan on advertising your product and do you know the return on that advertising?
14- Where do you plan to sell your product?
15- Are you working on your business idea full time?
16- What is your background?
17- Why did you get into this business?
18- How did you come up with your idea?
19- Who designed your product?
20- How do you make your living now?
21- Are there any samples you can show us?
22- Why should I care about your product?
These questions give us perspective on what areas need optimizing!
I donut what to say the last little while and next little while have been and will be crazy!
I’m very happy to be freeing up some time come July so I can focus more energy and planning into each and every session I do. Having a “side-hustle” or “main-hustle” does not mean you need to burn yourself out, pack up your schedule, and say “yes” to everyone, and that’s ok.
More and more I am seeing success being equated with how busy someone is, and that’s not always the case. To be successful and have a sustainable business model you need to allocate time effectively and prioritize.
Who’s with me?
Scrunchies are, hands-down, my favourite accessory. One of the first things I do when I get home is throw my hair up in a bun.
My hair has gotten quite long and full in the last few years and while it looks nice when it’s down it’s a huge pain in the butt to control.
Having my hair tied back or up keeps my hair out of the camera when I’m shooting (v important to not have hair in the frame) and my hair out of my face when I’m culling, editing, answering emails, delivering galleries, planning sessions, creating mood boards, corresponding with vendors, and so on.
✨
It’s safe to say that scrunchies are essential to me being efficient in my work. (P.S. this scrunchie is from @laanilife and FUN FACT - every scrunchie I own is handmade locally in Ottawa.) What do you have or use that makes your work easier, more fun, or more efficient?
I got my blue-light glasses in! Haven’t really tried them out too much just yet but I’m going to try to use them whenever I’m looking at a screen (which is a lot) and we’ll see if they make a difference!
Have you used blue light glasses before? Do you think they make a difference?
ALSO, what other things do you do or use to help make your work easier or less harmful? Each profession and craft has its own challenges!
I donut believe it, it’s already Wednesday!
Usually weeks after long weekends tend to drag on and on, but this one is just cruising by. I’ve started a new book, had a consult with a new client, and delivered galleries!
What have you been up to so far this week? Feeling like it’s going by slow or fast?
