#MovingStill, now on view through September 2, explores themes of migration, gender, religion and national identity through the lens of #performativephotography. As part of the exhibition, we’ve collaborated with a number of community and research partners—including @indiansummerfestival, @capturephotofest and @asiaartarchiveinindia—to develop a rich picture of India’s art ecology in the Gallery’s 3rd Floor Rotunda. Co-founder of the #IndianSummerFestival, writer @sirishr has also selected quotes relating to the themes in the exhibition, and Vancouver-based artist @sandeepjohalart has created 4 vibrant accompanying wall murals, or altars. ...
