Well I may have missed that the LOC Awareness Ribbon challenge hosted by Diana @nailcraftaddict was for cancer awareness. However it works out since these are Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness nails and today is Rare Disease Awareness Day. Pulmonary Hypertension has impacted my life in so many ways. I have included some slides about PH. Basically it is hypertension of the lungs. It affects the heart and all major organs. I am now on oxygen 90% of the time and have to use my wheelchair when I go out most of the time. But I just keep on going. Yes I get depressed. Yes I hate the fact my life isn't the same. Yet a lot have it worse. I have people who love me. I have this wonderful community that supports me. I get to paint beautiful nails. I may have PH but PH doesn't have me. This is what Pulmonary Hypertension, right heart failure and fibromyalgia looks like. The cold front has made my hip and knees hurt and my fibro go into full pain alert. Add my BP dropped significantly and my pulse decided to drop to 35. However today was a good day. I didn't have to take pain meds. I celebrated Fat Tuesday. I did a great cardio workout in my chair dancing to Heart. The biggest thing I did was to get on my treadmill and walk 3 minutes. I had to use oxygen but I walked with no problem. I now have a plan to do it 3x a week and increase to a maximum of 6 minutes. Yes today was a good day. Hoy cumplo 5 años con un diagnóstico que cambio mi vida, me lleno de miedo, rabia, angustia a lo desconocido, de miles de preguntas y pocas respuesta.. De ese hilo tan frágil que es la vida y la muerte. Que te digan usted tiene una enfermedad rara poco frecuente y sin cura y mortal, se llama Hipertensión Arterial Pulmonar. #Idiopática. Sentir que estas muriendo fueron los días mas difícil, estudios exámenes, cateterismo, diagnóstico, dar un solo paso, bañarme, subir escalera, lo mas común era y es extremadamente agotador. Sentir que no podía mas, lo cotidiano era un gran reto. Es luchar con tu mente y la poca fuerza que tienes. Ver a tu familias con tu mismo miedo y no saber que hacer delante de un mundo totalmente desconocido. La Hipertensión Pulmonar llego por un porque, no para que, son días buenos, otros extremadamente malos, con ambos he aprendido a disfrutar cada respiro de mi vida. En este camino he conocido personas extraordinarias, muchos de ellos ya están con Dios y son mis ángeles que me cuidan y me dan fuerza para seguir. Nadie se da cuenta lo significativo que es respirar hasta que se pierde la capacidad de la misma. Yo tengo Hipertensión Pulmonar pero ella no me tiene a mi..Gracias vida Gracias Dios.
