♻️ I made this work by collecting plastic and trash I found near by my house. Unfortunately you don't need to go that far to find out plastic, is fucking everywhere. As a surfer and a lover for outdoor sports I always understood and respected the beauty of nature. As an artist I feel the necessity to do something about it, I can't create a system to recycle all the trash in the world but I can be aware of the presence of it which allows me to develop techniques in order to reduce and recycle trough my art. Here you can see one approach I did on the past week. All you see here was found in the trash. I hope you don't enjoy this and you feel the same horrible feeling I have when I look on our nowadays situation. Почему-то под тяжестью принимаемых решений я чувствую, наоборот, силу. Я, как атлант, ощущаю каждую напряженную мышцу, каждый натянутый нерв и чувствую их предел прочности. Словно давлением груза решаемых задач меня выталкивает вперед. Сильная девочка не умеет говорить спасибо, но ты знаешь, как я благодарна за поддержку каждой моей безумной идеи.

It’s the last few days to catch my show in the Kawela Gallery at @turtlebayresort on the North Shore! . All of the relief prints have sold but the marine debris cyanotypes and rope panels are still available (DM for pricing/availability). I’m donating 40% of sales to @sustainablecoastlineshawaii and @kokuahawaiifoundation to thank them for this opportunity to share my work and to support their important sustainability efforts across Hawai’i. Big mahalo to @itskielemaria and the whole Turtle Bay crew for inviting me into your beautiful space! . @sustainablecoastlineshawaii volunteers and staff collected all of the plastic debris I worked with from the beaches of O’ahu, and I was lucky that @kokuahawaiifoundation Kim and @jackjohnson @marapyzel @brimohi @tristanmmns and Uncle Bicky let me make some noise in their yards/driveways to create all of this work over a 10 day period in March... on top of moving the #plasticfreepipeline sculpture to its temporary home at Sharks Cove... it was a crazy busy trip and I’m bummed I didn’t have enough time to catch up with folks or get any waves!!! I swear I’ll plan it better next time... . Anyway super grateful for the opportunity to work with such a beautiful group of people with really strong priorities: family, community service, sustainability, hard work, fun... I could go on and on... but overall I’d just like to say Thank You and share my respect for the North Shore community.
