➿ SHOOPING DAY ➿➿. . Aujourd’hui je suis aller au Grand Marché avec Jessica, une des serveuses avec qui j’avais sympathiqué en décembre dernier ☺️ C’est vraiment immense, il y a des allées et des allées remplis de tout et n’importe quoi ! Je ne savais plus ou donner de la tête haha ➿➿. . On y est aller pour trouver les derniers éléments de la soirée de samedi, mais je compte bien y retourner avant de partir pour y faire quelques emplettes personnelles J’ai déjà repairé quelques jolies robes , j’adore ramener de mes voyages des souvenirs et en particulier des habits car quand ensuite je les portent en France, ça me rappelle un peu mes moments là bas ➿➿. . En chemin, on s’est arrêté pour grignoter, et j’ai pu goûter quelques spécialité de la bas, je ne saurait pas vous redire le nom je n’ai pas du tout retenu , mais c’était vraiment très très bon . . En tout cas les gens ici ont vraiment une autre mentalité, le sourire tout le temps, ils sont tellement gentil, ça change des français qui ralent et font tout le temps la geule ! ➿➿. . From ‘Madia ya bwala’ by Robert Nzaou-Kissolo (@nzaourob), Congo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1: ‘Ba ntété’ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2: ‘Madeso na mirroir’ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ‘Madia ya bwala’ in Kikongo (meaning 'the food of Home' in English) aims at highlighting and protecting indigenous plants and food. With the rise of the fast food industry across the globe and especially in Africa, there has never been a better time to emphasize the benefit of local food and how the food of our home country has always spoken to us. The project hopefully also serves to draw attention to the fact that restaurants and hotels in Congo are serving less and less indigenous dishes, and so are indirectly implying that these are somehow below par on the international scene. Foods like Nté nté, Ngaï ngaï, binsunkudu, ba ngasi and madeso, as seen in the photos, are still cultivated by people for the people using completely natural methods; no fertilisers, pesticides or other chemicals are involved in the growing or making processes. These are the foods we grew up eating and these are the foods we dream of when we are away from home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The African Photojournalism Database (#APJD) is a joint project of the World Press Photo Foundation and @everydayafrica.
