About me ~ My Younger Self... cont from yesterday Money was tight back then. My clothing was mainly hand me downs. Maybe we weren't poor but Dad was the only breadwinner with 9 mouths to feed. So at thirteen, I got a job at the neighborhood Deli, where Mr. & Mrs Aaron made the best cream filled donuts you ever tasted. I'd finish school at 3 and close up the deli at 9. By the time I was fifteen, I was running the place. ⠀ I was a vegetarian long before most people knew about the practice. I felt odd and out of place. At 18, the day after my first niece was born @newlyhipstef I packed my bags and moved to Vancouver. ⠀  I landed 2 full time jobs; the first was at a Golf Club from 8 a.m. 'til 4 pm. Just a few hours later at 8 p.m. my second shift started and ran 'til 4 a.m. I was a cocktail waitress at the infamous Body Shop, a nightclub straight out of the movies. I walked through hyped up crowds with a large tray full of cocktails held high above my head. ⠀  I worked 16 hours a day to hopefully offer me the life I was dreaming of. I was so pleased with myself when I left the bank to go pay rent for my new place and my new furniture. That's the day I got robbed. I didn't cry, I didn't falter, just brushed myself off and started over. ⠀  And on and on went my young working life. But along side earning a living, came the demise of my childhood artistic passions. This happens to many of us. We start working and start silencing our fabulous little selves. ⠀  I remember wondering 'when would my little artistic self return . . .' ⠀ . . . final chapter tomorrow

Sorry for not having posted recently! My family has gone through 3 illnesses in the past few weeks but we’re on the mend! Maybe I’ll throw some white splatter stars on this one when it dries. I’m trying so hard to get a galaxy effect. Enjoying whatever comes out! Come paint with me!
