I thought I’d share some of the Autumn spreads from my book, ‘A Year in the Wild’ before winter starts setting in! Here is the Forest Fungi page, with the neat sketch and final layout. I mostly used garden flowers for this picture, if you look closely you’ll see forget-me-nots, verbena, scabiosa and many more. I’ll share some photographs of the original artwork soon too. One of the most challenging Pressed Bridal Bouquets yet! Every single petal and leaf came from the bride’s bouquet . _ #StoryTime: My customer contacted me with a very specific idea in mind; months later, she sent me her beautiful wedding photos so I could choose one and my very first thoughts were: what did I get myself into and how am I going to be able to pull this off? If you have attended one of my workshops, you know that your piece doesn’t really look that pretty until you finish it, right? (For those of you who haven’t attended one, putting a piece together is just like a puzzle, you can’t really appreciate the whole image until you put the very last piece) Anyways... every time I put a leaf/petal or flower down I said “OMG, OMG” until the very last one... I’m so incredibly happy with the way it turned out! I cannot wait to see this piece framed in a big matted frame

Throwback to a few weeks ago, when I still had flowers left to cast in resin! Now I am almost out of last years flowers, but the first treasures of spring are already in the press - should be dry and ready in a week or two! (I bought the mold on Amazon)
