If 2018 taught me anything, it’s learning how to practice and promote self love. Challenging negative thoughts daily can help strengthen our self confidence and decrease negative thinking about ourselves, a situation, or others. Dealing with depression is a hard thing to go through and I am still not out of the woods yet, but I feel as if I can deal with some situations better than allowing negative thinking to take place. Great to be back in the field today - but what an awful story.  I won't get into the details here - you can head to the link in my bio for the full story...but on a broader note: How can we stop bullying? Honestly. Not just at school, but in the workplace - everywhere.  Why does a) inflicting physical, emotional or verbal torture on others appear to empower some, and b) Why do people watch and allow for bullying to continue, not speaking up, or worse sharing videos of the bullying? I was definitely a target in junior high. It was bad. Really bad. I would plan alternate routes home so the group who would verbally taunt me and throw objects at me - couldn't follow me. I would pretend I was sick so I wouldn't have to go to school and endure another day of hell.  That's about as detailed as I'll get about my experience, but it was far more awful than I'm describing here. People stood by and said nothing while this was happening to me.  And it looks like decades later, nothing has changed. There's no reason why each of us can't advocate for respectful behaviour, and for people to speak up! It's a conversation you can have with your kids, your friends, your colleagues.  If you see something - say something! The emotional or physical scars are long lasting, and can be fatal. Think about that. Fatal. We can all do more - and we should. #leadbyexample #lovewins
