Bouquet: Everything starts very distinct floral like field flowers & mountain herbs but after its second infusion a very deep and thick vegetable character forms itself out of Ling Zhi dried mushrooms followed by steaming Edamame, lotus roots, zucchini plus a fine deliciously nutty layer of none salted peanuts and almonds.
Liquor: The actual taste is super thick & viscous with an already deep golden coloration while cooling at the back and sides of your tongue and palatal. There isn't much noticeable of those former vegetable steaming notes at first but a lot of this strong field flower and herbal atmosphere - Fresh herbal flowers of marigold, gentian, dandelion & camomile with a hint of vanilla to it plus a herbal aspect of hemp with a tiny hint of parsley. But if you pass this major road once you might discover smaller hidden sideways with those already former named composition of steaming veggies like Edamame, lotus root, mushrooms but also those nutty elements. Within the third infusion the cooling effect changes more into an allover fury coating feel. There is a certain bitterness within this highly enjoyable symphony which forms its potion out of some former named ingredients as almond, gentian, dandelion but also elderflower with a certain hop malty-ness to it. With it's sweet field flower hay herbal spicy echo something frankincense tree resin like swings along too. Inside later infusions you might also get a certain mix of apple and green leaves within the actual taste. What I generally adore is a strong and fragrant beeswax and honey-ish aroma within those emptied cups - love it ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

I just noticed that within the last 2 years there was literally not a single day without enjoying some Sheng Pu-erh & within the last 6 month I literally can't live without my daily dose of Maocha Sheng anymore. To be honest I wanted to post this a little earlier but time & a lot of things to do came into my way But even for this late our here in Europe I just wanted to share the shot of this amazing Sunday with you because I highly enjoy and love this unbelievable aromatic and flavorful Autumn Maocha aka Hekai @crimsonlotustea so freakin much Crimson Lotus is one of my favorite sources when it comes to high quality Maocha and I really can't wait to see what they might find this year. I do not have to tell you all how much I freakin love Pu-erh It is the Tea I can't live without and a day without it somehow seems missing something massively. Pu-erh for me is the source or let me say the origin of tea itself and many believe this actually is indeed the case - me too Especially when I'm drinking young wild arbor or Gushu Maocha I can feel the connection to mother earth and its roots - its omniferous nurturing power running through my body with each and every sip. For me Pu-erh is pure natural magic. I'm thankful how lucky we are to be able to have an earth we live on where we can experience so many small and big wonders on each and every day ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

Reaching 1900 thanks to all of you I am already dreaming about 2000 & what I plan for it! So lets enjoy something 2000 from one of my most favorite teashops.
Bouquet: There is a lot going on within this fine aged buddy which comes along with a wide range of steaming nuances enlightening the atmosphere around you within an instant. In this case everything starts deeply in the forest with thick layers of moss, pine cones & pine resin plus a stony mineral base covered with foliage. Further a touch of chalk leads us to fresh baked rye bread with sunflower seeds.
Liquor: Very rock-ish stony like liking old castle walls or like drinking water out of a slate cups. Very stony! Massively creamy with a lot of depth and texture plus a light taste of wet cardboard. Majorly you will find Autumn fallen leaves / foliage & a hint of bourbon vanilla. Generally talking this fellow got not only the instant strong red color but also taste wise a lot in common with a good aged ripe shou. The aftertaste is somehow a bit earthy basement-ish but also stony plus a hint of bitterness with a touch of fruitiness to it like the aftertaste of blood orange - there is also a certain strange tingling spicy note to it like a mix of caraway, anis, fennel and clove especially clove. The feel of the texture is unique and weird at the same moment - It feels like if there is sand between this creamy thickness. A very heavy covering feel on the throat. After a while a very dry feel in your throat and tongue sets in. Oily texture with a constant thick dark sweetness to it in the later infusions. This heavy and covering coating is nearly vanished after the fourth steeping also the sand effect! A Sheng in a Shou coat ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!
