#Rac10 challenge because I love my gym and all the people in it (and I wouldn’t mind a free months membership since I’m here every day) Also, I’m real sick and tired of all the instagram ad videos of women “working out” in perfect hair and make up, zero sweat, zero ugly faces at the end of those reps you really don’t wanna do. I’m no fitness model but I get mentally and physically stronger every day at the gym, and I promise it never, EVER looks cute or attractive while doing it so, here’s my favorite circuit workout to do almost anywhere, the second two videos are the full 7 minute circuit—repeat 4-5 times with at little rest as possible. Here are some clips of the exercises I performed with the landmine for yesterdays lower body day. I love the landmine for its versatility. The path of travel for the end of the bar ends up being an arch, and it sets up movements like the squat or deadlift rather efortlessly. Using the landmine to get into the squat position helps improve form because the backward arc of the bar helps encourage a posterior weight shift while still forcing you to stay upright. The more distal you load the bar (distal = farther away from you center of mass, like on a shoulder or in one hand for a DL) the more it incorporates your core stability — making it a great anti-rotational movement. Its movements like this that have helped me build a strong midsection. For single leg movements, like the Single Leg Deadlift, often times balance is the limiting factor in executing the movement when using a dumbbell. I like how the landmine axis is anchored but still has a dynamic path of travel, providing more stability thus improving balance and allowing people to load it more.

Any of these exercises would make a great addition to your lower body training days. Get confident with using just the weight of the bar before adding extra plates! Also, check out my tempo/speed. A slow pace also improves balance!
