✨Hört euch islamische Kindermusik an . . . “Ya Allah, please accept my duas and forgive my sins.” Actually, all Little A said was “pray”. I think that’s good enough for now. New sample just arrived in the post.

This girl. She’s asked to get up for suhoor everyday since she was 5. I made excuses as to why she should sleep rather than get up with us. She’d be angry every morning I didn’t wake her up. Now at 8 years old, she’s gotten up, no leapt out of bed, each morning at 4am when I wake her up. Her morning voice is precious. She trails behind me as I wake up the boys. I stand in their darkened room & repeat in a tired monotoned voice, “boooys...boooys...boooys.” As soon as I see & hear stirring I turn & leave, making my way downstairs. I usually just flip the switch & turn on the light in my oldest son’s room & that does the trick. We make our way into the blackened kitchen & turn on the some accents lights...the ones in the glass cabinets. They give just enough light, but still make our eyes squint involuntarily. With eyes half closed we all do the silent suhoor dance. Each one shuffling to and from the fridge getting out leftovers or fruit or cereal. We’re all too tired to say much but grunt at each other. I’m not that mom who wakes up an hour before the family and prepares a hot breakfast. May Allah reward those amazing women who do. I remember one fondly, and I know there are more. We eat. The only sound you hear is the silence outside and the crunching and chewing of food. Then someone says, “how much time do we have left?” My husband checks his phone and announces the time. Then we all check our phones and confirm or argue the time. Mine says 4:33am my son’s says 4:32am. The timing is paramount. We start our fast right as fajr starts, a minute over & our fast is invalid. We break our fast exactly at magrib. A minute early & our fast is invalid. And if you accidentally did that, you’d just make up the day, but if you intentionally broke your fast early, you’d have to fast 60 days. In the last 5 minutes of suhoor we’re all checking the time often. Drinking that last cup of water, swallowing that last bite of food. And then the clock ticks forward, and it’s fajr. We make wudu & pray as a family. After, the kids dart off to bed, but I stay up, preferring to nap later. I take the first half of fajr to read and memorize Quran. Those quiet moments are serene. #ramadan

Sophia has a message for all!! • We are currently in the second ten days of Ramadan. Muslims must seek for the forgiveness of Allah Almighty and regret for all their sins. The Dua for second Ashra is: Translation: “I ask forgiveness of my sins from Allah who is my Lord and I turn towards Him.” ... ... ... ... #Tendays #ashra #ramadan #ramadhan2019 #ramadanbaby #ramadankids #forgiveness #allah #mercy #muslimah #muslim #muslimkids #hijab #minimuslims #pink #hijaabi #hijabkids #duas #supplication #lord #allahisgreat #allahismerciful #allahisforgiving #sophia

Ramadan Part 3 of 3 . So. I did put a fair amount of time into this masjid, which I'm quite proud of. To see the joy and screams of excitement that erupted from my children at the sight of it. Today's day 10 of ramadan for us and they've been cooped up in there full time with their Qurans, books and toys and persisted on having read aloud times only in there. So worth it Alhamdulillah. . . As for the build: Although I really would love to obtain the wooden one next time inshaAllah, I purchased the cardboard dome kit from my talented friend @my1stmasjid this year. It came with the little cardboard cutouts which I spray painted gold. For the frame I used pvc pipes and joins rather than timber because it was easier to assemble and disassemble - although I'm quite sure the kids mean for it to have a permanent spot in our home after ramadan. ☺️ I used sheets, fairy lights and fake plants I had at home to accessorise. And the posters inside are both from @poppetry_shop . . The calender was a diy idea I got off pinterest and @the_modestlife helped with the finer details - baarakAllahu feek friend ❤️. I just had the tags custom made by someone on etsy because I couldn't find anything like it (strange hey?). . My main purchase this year was the gorgeous plaque by @studionayma . Yes, this investment was entirely for me and yes, I would call it an investment ☺️ - I mean we are allowed some things for ourselves, am I right? And the beautiful geometric moon and stars were gifted by my dear friend @zedandq . I am in love with all of these versatile wooden hangings which we can reuse year after year inshaAllah. . . That concludes my three posts on our ramadan corner! Apologies as I couldn't quite fit everything I wanted to say into one and it took me a while to post . . Ramadan Mubarak to you all from Australia! I pray you have a blessed month (or the next 20 days) filled with ibadah and good deeds, laughter and joy, peace and tranquillity. May Allah enable us all to reap the benefits of this beautiful month of mercy with good health and sincerity, overlook our shortcomings and accept our acts of worship. . . Allahumma Ameen. With love, Yusra Xxx
