New Blog Post up featuring
All smiles because I just got my results back from @yorktestlabs! Although I've discussed it a bit on the blog, I haven't really mentioned anything on Instagram....so here we go!
.
.
For the past year, I've been feeling awful: tired and exhausted all the time (NO energy even with 8-9 hours of sleep), bloating after every meal, unexplained weight gain, almost daily migraines, hormonal issues, insomnia... the list goes on. I initially thought I was burnt out but after scaling back my intense work schedule, my symptoms only worsened. Nothing seemed to work and the more it went on, the less I felt like my happy, sunshine-y self. .
.
In March, things got pretty bad (hence why I've been on and off with my posting) and I ended up getting a few blood tests (along with an ultrasound) to rule out diabetes, kidney/liver issues, anemia, and thyroid problems. All came back negative. The doctor said that my symptoms were also in line with chronic fatigue, sleep apnea, depression, hormonal imbalance and stress but did not offer additional testing. .
.
I decided to take a food intolerance test to see if my symptoms were diet related. The blood test was super easy to administer myself and within two weeks, I had my results back...which noted an intolerance to cow's milk, yeast, egg yolk, coffee, tuna and various grapes used in wines (mostly white) along with borderline reactions for wheat, buckwheat, sesame seed, oily fish, and more grape varieties. Upon doing more research, I saw that all of my symptoms were in line with those of a food intolerance and FINALLY, everything made sense. The crazy thing is that I never had any intolerances before and these symptoms started out of nowhere. .
.
@yorktestlabs included additional info, a 30 min consultation call, a food and drink guidebook and a 12 week food diary. Dairy will be the hardest as I LOVE cheese, ranch, chocolate, cookies, etc but I feel so much better knowing that I'm going to feel like myself again soon! I'll give you guys an update in a few months once I'm done with the elimination diet - crossing my fingers!! Thank you again @yorktestlabs and @liptonpublicity I am sooo grateful! .
