No rest while I’m doing all this hard but, much needed work. During these times I feel myself being overwhelmed and consumed by worries. However I try to stop to be mindful and to do some self-care. One way I do this is by Smudging myself and my home. I smudge to get rid negative feelings and thoughts while healing my four aspects (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual). Smudging allows people to stop, slow down, and become mindful and centered. This allows people to remember, connect, and be grounded in the event, task, or purpose at hand. Smudging also allows people to let go of negative feelings and thoughts. Letting go of things that inhibit a person from being balanced and focused comes from the feeling of being calm and safe while smudging. The forms of smudging will vary from nation to nation but are considered by all to be a way of cleansing oneself. Smudging is part of “the way things are done” and is part of living a good life. Smudging is always voluntary. People should never be forced or pressured to smudge. It is completely acceptable for a person to indicate that they do not want to smudge. That person may choose to stay in the room and refrain from smudging or leave the room during the smudge. Respect for all is the guiding principle in any Indigenous tradition. Smudging is done by a person who understands the significance and teachings behind the Smudge. 10 years ago I was still me, but such a different being. I lived in NYC and was running a background casting agency and beginning to know NYC may not be the place for me. I was on antidepressants, I had allergy shots twice a week. I shopped like it was my job! In 2010 I moved back to Boston and started to get back to ME and a consistent #yoga practice. In 2011 I moved to #Miami and began to progress. I found self help courses, guided meditations and attended retreats. I studied #LifeCoaching and began to find my #soul. I went to #India and discovered my past. I committed to my first #40days of #AquarianSadhana (#kundaliniyoga) and transformed my ways. I experienced #sacredmedicines, I healed past traumas (in this life and past), I reconnected with more and more of my #soulfamily. I lost my father and gained an angel. I expanded, I elevated. I found India again and met my higher self. I received guidance, I listened. I opened a portal @thesageuary.
