Sanpin tea, a type of jasmine green tea originated from China and was introduced to Okinawa through mutual trades during the reign of the Ryukyu kingdom, since then it has become a popular drink in Okinawa. Okinawa is also well-known for their brown sugar which is produced by boiling down sugar cane juice -- the result is rich, complex, not too sweet.
