Love and Money - Strange kind of love What a pleasure it is listening to this album again. I once played the title track 50 times in succession - totally addicted and quite infatuated at the time. This is such a good album and the songs are superb. People often say this about albums, but this one really does not have any weak tracks on it at all. Love and Money were a Scottish band from Glasgow and this was their second album, and featured Jeff Porcaro of Toto on drums, with uncredited input from Donald Fagen and Gary Katz as producer. Although three singles did moderately well (Jocelyn Square, Halleluiah Man and Strangle kind of love), they were extremely memorable and added to the longevity of the album. Remember, it doesn’t make a difference if other people like your music - you’re the one listening to it - you’re the one that should be enjoying it! Rock climbing in the sun what fun, I would love to say I cruised up this delightful E1,5c but in reality Alaska doesn't improve your rock climbing ability in fact I would say it does the complete opposite. It's also a cubby route which is always a good way to give your ego a slap. What a great weekend adventure to Carn Goraig with Sarah! The Gaelic translation is 'Rocky Hill of the Silly Female', which pretty much sums it up! Between the outrageous wind on the slabs, and hotaches from the river crossing, it certainly felt full value. Let's hope for loads more of this over summer!

The Waterboys rightly became famous for their Celtic-folk rock albums of the late ‘80’s/early ‘90’s. But, I always preferred their first three “big music” albums, and firmly believe that their unheralded masterpiece is not 1988’s “Fisherman’s Blues” (which features in #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie ), but this, 1985’s “This Is The Sea”.
