All those different degrees of tones, they’re from 2 different balayage appointments. Because creating brightness while maintaining depth is easier to maintain when you do it in two different sessions. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I can create depth and dimension by adding low lights and highlights. But low lights, whether its a Permanent or Demi color, will fade with each time you wash your hair. As the pigment releases from the hair shaft it will absorb into the lighter and more porous strands; Thus leaving it ‘washed-out’ looking and all one color after a few months. LIGHTENING IS EVERYTHING ☀️⛼ . . Absolutly the same girl, the same haircolor, its even the same ! light ( ringlight ) - just different positions in the salon. NO FILTER ! . . Light makes always the difference- if you have warm light, cool light, sunlight, roomlight, professional light , ringlight , bathroomlight etc etc etc . . If you spent your time , skills and your know how into a gorgeos haircolor, you also would like to present it in the social media - so you wanna show an absolutly true to color result . In order to get this , its very important to know in which light which haircolor will look true and wont give a false opinion. So if you created a very ashy, icy silver color you should not use a very warm inside room light to take your after pic. the best is always outside daylight- but you cant always take the pics outside- so learn your lightening conditions inside your salon- test where you get a very natural true to color result and where its getting false. A ringlight is definatly a great option for in- salon hairpics. . . The color , I created here it true on the right side of the pic , its a warm pastel rosegold- so the very cool lightening conditions on the left side is not telling the truth. And as you all may see - its a big difference. . . IMPORTANT Its also very important to tell your clients about this fact, because 90% of the clients will look very carefully at the new haircolor in the bathroom, and the most bathroom lightening conditions are warm, with lots of shadow and also often reflecting warm shades if you have rose, pink, yellow, peach colored walls and if a warm colored towel is reflecting into your pic its making everything even worse . VIBRANT TRUE SILVER . . Formula: I prelightened all parts which were brassy orange/ yellow at a level 7/8, especially beyond the surface hair , in order to get a a nice level 9/10 , and protected the hair with @olaplex . . I rinsed out and pretoned with barcelona #noyellowshampoo . . . i didnt lighten the roots , i did a #rootsmudge/ #colomelt with @pulpriot faction8 5.1 + 6.1 ratio 1:1 and blended into the toner formula at the sink . Then I toned the damp hair at the bowl with @pulpriothair rapid toners and used Silver + Icy. The roots got a darker tone before toning so i toned the roots too in order to get ashy roots. Formula: 60gr Silver + 20gr Icy with 6vol ratio 1:2 . + #olaplex . . . Brushes/ foils @framar . •COLOR CORRECTION• —————————— Let’s talk.... Something about this entire scene bugs me even more than the choppy blonde ‘peak-a-boo’ highlights that you see here. What bothers me most about this “Balayage” done just LAST WEEK is the fact that this client (new to this area; and whom hadn’t had her previous balayage done in 18 months); when she booked the appointment she requested a “grown out balayaged look”. .... What she got was This. .... The most aggravating thing about this entire situation is this: If you, the stylist don’t know how to perform a requested service... JUST SAY SO!!!! ‍♀️ It makes you look like a BETTER hairstylist in being able to acknowledge that! ....and furthermore: If you want to know how to perform such services: TAKE CLASSES...and there are endless YouTube tutorials to get ya primed. ✌ Second thing that irks me: Why is it such a frowned-upon thing to Not Know It ALL!?!!? ❓❓❓❓❓ You see, this is what makes you Greater.... it’s the constant GROWTH. And before you have Growth; you have Curiosity, and with curiosity comes: INSPIRATION. Let me ask you this: Do the words CURIOSITY, INSPIRATION, & GROWTH show any signs of weakness to you ❎ I’ll answer: NO. NOPE, NOT AT ALL! In fact it shows Empowerment. Period. And your clients will be excited and inspired as you learn MORE! I know my clients get excited when I’m about to learn something new! ::::::FORMULA:::::: I used @matrix Color Sync 6A(25g)+6N(5g)+6 vol And melted her out to 10N(25g)+10V(5g)+10 vol Both formulas infused with #b3 for longevity. I rinsed and did NOT shampoo because the first shampoo causes the most fading (in my opinion); instead I sealed her with @biolage Acidic Milk and rinsed after 4 minutes. •••• Moral of the formula: Don’t overthink it; All I had to do was work with the blonde, add some shadow and mellow out the blonde.
