After some amazing Open Water dives in Koh Tao, I was pretty excited to continue and complete my Advanced Water Dive with @oceansounddiveyoga . The benefit of doing the course, apart from the pursuit of a good time, is that afterwards you’ll be able to dive deeper (30 meters versus 18 at Open Water level) and do more challenging dives that are often reserved for those with advanced certification. I don’t think twice about descending down deep-occasionally even below recreational limits. (Ops!) My first deep dive left a mark in my mind as it was the first time I had spotted many False Killer Whales! While I swam across this giant aquarium, I also spotted Giant Groupers, Snappers, Sweet Lips, Trevally and soft corals. I sensed a peaceful and content heart after my dives in the Andaman Sea. Diving does some miracle to my senses which I'm yet to decipher. I am an adrenaline junkie, a nature-enthusiast and a devotee of peace. I love getting away from the demanding city life and taking on experiences filled with goodness of nature. To experience the depth of the our earth I decided to get my PADI OPEN WATER certificate. It took me a while to take my first jump with all my scuba gear on. There is nothing like breathing underwater. What fascinated me thoroughly was the sound of my own breath – it was hypnotising. For someone like me, who is impulsive, hyper and over-excited, I had to get used to the slow motions of the water. Everything moved at a snail’s pace . The experience left me feeling serene and mellow. Glancing around, I was amazed at the infinite lengths of the ocean I could see, along with all the other clear cut, colourful beauty I was in awe of the sheer magnificence of it all and just wanted time to stand still. Exploring nature is a meditation in itself. The feeling of power that you experience rejuvenates your inner self again. It’s like a dream you do not want to wake up from.
