My music video for “No Time To Waste” is finally here! Link in bio. It means so much to me to share a little bit of what it was like to survive #sepsis. When I was in the hospital, music gave me so much comfort. I hope my song can do that for other survivors. Thank you @sepsisalliance Alliance for helping me make this possible. #SepsisSurvivor #SepsisAwareness
September is #SepsisAwarenessMonth and if you work in the ICU, then there’s a good chance you care for septic patients on the regular. Did you know sepsis mortality increases 10% every hour treatment is delayed?! Recognize the signs of sepsis early and speak up for your patients so they can get the treatment they need! Click on the link in my bio for more information on sepsis!
#GivingTuesday is right around the corner on November 27th! As a sepsis survivor, I’m supporting @sepsisalliance. Will you join me? Every gift goes to raising #SepsisAwareness and providing resources to survivors like me. To give, text “ANGELICA” and your gift amount to 41444 by Tuesday. Thank you! Love you guys so much!!!❤️
It’s been 9 months since I was fitted with my new legs. If you asked me then if I would be walking independently I would have said, of course. I sometimes get down on myself because I want to be back to “normal”. I miss the ease of just walking out the door. After my prosthetic appointment yesterday I found myself reflecting. No, I’m not walking unassisted, yet. But I have been learning so much along the way. I’m finding my limits, hard lessons to learn when you’re knocked down and slow to get back up. I’ve had to quickly get used to this whole new world of liners, socks, and and nasty blisters that keep you off your legs for weeks. I’ve learned to speak a whole new language, one I didn’t give thought to before. I’m learning to respect and listen to my body, something I’ve struggled with, pushing myself too far. I never imagined the journey would be this rewarding. I will walk. .
