I look really happy in this photo.⁣ ⁣ The truth is, that’s not the whole story.⁣ ⁣ The truth is I’ve been struggling with my perspective. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed. Stressed. Tired. Discouraged. Anxious. Irritable. Inadequate. Not in good enough shape, not patient enough, loving enough, fun enough, organized enough...⁣ ⁣ I mean, the list goes on. ⁣ ⁣ Proverbs 14:13 says, “Even in laughter the heart may sorrow.” ⁣ ⁣ I think of that a lot. I’m guilty of putting on a smile. Of saying I’m fine thanks how are you? And moving along. I float through the day with a surface-level happy that masks a deeper sadness. The sadness that comes with feeing like a failure.⁣ ⁣ You never know what someone’s going through, you know? Moms especially I feel have it tough. Because you are responsible for other people’s hearts. If you’re struggling, everyone is affected. When you fail it hurts that much more because you’re not just failing yourself you’re failing them too.⁣ ⁣ That’s why that saying says to be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. ⁣ ⁣ I believe that was Plato. ⁣ ⁣ (Actually I know it was Plato cause I googled it ‍♀️)⁣ ⁣ Well whadya know I feel better already. Lol. Laughing helps. That reminds me of another verse. “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.”⁣ ‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭17:22‬)⁣ ⁣ I think of that one a lot too. So profoundly true. ⁣ ⁣ Satan wants me to stay here. Believing that there’s no use in trying to break free. That I have no choice but to walk around shackled to these weights. ⁣ ⁣ And some days, I’ll admit, I believe him.⁣ ⁣ But I’m not going to give up. I just have to regain my balance and find my center again. I need to draw nearer to the Lord and pour over Scripture to wash and renew my soul.⁣ ⁣ I want to be a source of encouragement to you guys. Of inspiration. But maybe God wants me to encourage you by sharing my weaknesses too so He can be seen Strong. ⁣ ⁣ So if you ever have moments of feeling less-than or not-good-enough, know that I’m right there with you too.
