Normally we don’t take things too seriously on Instagram, but we’ll be straight, we make sunscreen to protect people. And that is one thing we take pretty seriously. So this month, we’re talkin’ about it. Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans will get skin cancer in their lifetime? We wanna change that. So, Step 2 of our #BananaSuitChallenge (honestly the whole reason we are even doing this): Get to “Know Your Spots” & screenshot/share this image. Look for the ABCs of Skin Cancer Screening and if you see one or more contact your dermatologist. #SkinCancerAwareness #KnowYourSpots #TrustTheBum

[Werbung] Schnelle Morgenroutine ‍♀️ . ⬇️ . #skincare #hautpflege #vegan #neubeidm #sonnenschutz #incimaniacs #sunscreen #skincareblogger #antiaging #skincancerawareness

May is Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month. Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet rays. So keep your eyes, not skin, peeled. Products that aren’t 'broad-spectrum’ carry a warning. #skincancerawareness #SkimmLife

May is Melanoma awareness month! I hate to admit it, but I only got serious about sun protection when I developed melasma on my face from the hormones in my IUD. Since then I’ve become pushy about sun protection. Honestly, it’s to your benefit to wear sunscreen and hats because it’s the easiest ways to prevent aging, sun spots, and of course skin cancer! I hide from the sun as much as possible, wear visors and hats, keep sunscreen in my purse and car, and self- tan so I still look like I have a glow. It might sound like a lot but I’d prefer this to melanoma… It blows my mind that skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. You can help prevent melanoma by seeking shade whenever possible, wearing protective clothing, avoiding direct sunlight between 10am-4pm and using broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 every day. A few not so fun facts about melanoma: * Melanoma is the leading cause of cancer death in young women ages 25-30 and the second leading cause of cancer death in women ages 30-35. * In ages 15-29, melanoma is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer. * The incidence of people under 30 developing melanoma is increasing faster than any other demographic group, soaring by 50% in women since 1980. Do you protect yourself from the sun? Please ask me If you ever need help finding a sunscreen! I have recommendations for all skin types!

Leute, ich bin ganz stolz auf euch! Ihr seid in Sachen #sonnenschutz gut aufgeklärt. . . #incipedia #incimaniacs #skincare #hautpflege #skincancerprevention #skincancerawareness #sunscreen

#ThisIsMay. Where I come from, that means: it’s the month of May in Indy! But it also means: it’s #SkinCancerAwareness Month!☀️With my mom working through melanoma 3x already, multiple scars later (with plenty of other basal cells taken care of), we don’t take this lightly! . Skin cancer can affect anyone & it’s a sneaky son of a gun. Whether you were a swimmer (me) or played soccer growing up, work(ed) in motorsports where you spend every wknd outside, work in construction or even... spend your days in an office, you are at risk. . Please do what you can to get regular skin checks (THESE ARE IMPORTANT) & wear sunscreen daily (ALSO IMPORTANT) even if you aren’t outside. And of course if you are beachin it on vacay, get that Vit D, but please be smart about it with lots of SPF (even if you don’t like the feel of lotion- DOOO IT). . You may notice I wear hats quite often when I’m outside. I love ball caps! While running errands, working out, hiking or getting some r&r at the beach (I’d wear on camera too if I was permitted!). I’m blonde, I’m fair skinned, I grew up swimming outside and professionally, I work outside. It’s just one thing I can do (in addition to my #eltamd sunscreen) that I can try to do to prevent. “About 90 percent of nonmelanoma skin cancers and about 86 percent of melanomas are associated with exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Knowing the risk factors and practicing sun protection year-round are key to reducing your risk.” - skincancer.org . Seriously enjoy the joys of the sunshine. But please be safe about it. My family has been rocked with my moms journey, so I am down for raising awareness for skin cancer (all cancers for that matter), even if it helps just 1 other person.
