For those who don’t know, I’ve suffered with acne since I was 16y/o. I’ve tried everything to control acne from over the counter products to every possible skincare products that targeted for acne prone skin. To taking the pill, antibiotics, the use of topic creams. To cutting out certain food groups in my diet and to taking Chinese medication for 2 years, which helped to the point where I only broke out during time of the month.
It got to the point where I accepted my acne and thought I could live with breaking out during that, as I knew I would have 3 weeks of relatively good skin. However there were always times where I would just break out non stop and it did make me feel rubbish about myself. So I wanted a long term solution, and this is when @anjalimahto and roaccutane stepped in.
I’ve followed Dr Anjali Mahto on Instagram for quite some time, as she has always openly shared with her audience that she too suffers from acne. If you don’t follow her already, you better start following her now!
We both participated in the video segment to the @stylistmagazine #skinpositivity campaign (though I never got the chance to meet her!).
I then went to a skincare talk that she had participated with @refinery29uk and had always found her as someone that was very personable and relatable as she understood what it felt like to suffer with acne as an adult.
.
.
Roaccutane has always been something that I considered to help with my acne. It was something my GP told me to go on when I was 25, but then after watching documentaries and reading about it. I decided I wasn’t going to take this medication. - it put me off!
But at the age of 31 I decided it was time for me to do something about my acne once and for all. It was also a time where I felt confident enough to deal with the side effects.

CHRONIC FATIGUE IS NO JOKE
.
This is literally every one of my clients!
.
No matter how motivated they are, they're constantly battling serious exhaustion
.
When you are chronically ill, have #gutproblems, and struggle with #autoimmunedisease, your body needs more rest.
Because healing can be a tough road!
Fatigue is a symptom you shouldn't ignore. I used to wake up feeling exhausted even after sleeping for 9 to 11 hours a night!
The main reason this happened to me was because I had chronic diarrhea. My body could not absorb nutrients as a result
.
Until I figured out what was wrong, some days were a battle just to get out of bed
.
TOP 4 REASONS MY CLIENTS ARE SO TIRED
.
1. Nutrient depleted - especially protein, magnesium, B vitamins & fat-soluble vitamins like D & A
.
2. Bad mix of gut bugs that have hijacked the #microbiome
.
3. #lowthyroid function (aka. #hashimotosdisease)
.
4. Poor energy production by your mitochondria (power plants of your cells)
.
Have you struggled with fatigue that was tough to shake?
People may think you're just lazy
.
But you're not.
Something is wrong under the surface.
If you've found something that's helped, what tip can you share with someone who is struggling?

GOT #SKINPROBLEMS?⠀
.⠀
Ever have this happen?⠀
⠀
It's so frustrating no matter what type of #skinrash you're dealing with like...⠀
⠀
ACNE (or the hormonal stuff that erupts around your cycle)⠀
.⠀
ECZEMA (don't get me started on all the pollen in the air)⠀
.⠀
DANDRUFF (the seasonal changes can make this worse)⠀
.⠀
One day my hands were fine and the next, I'm literally ripping the skin off because they itched so badly!⠀
⠀
I know my clients can totally relate to this feeling because it's such a huge annoyance.⠀
⠀
"Everything was going really well and then suddenly my skin just went nuts and I don't know what even happened"⠀
⠀
Because you want a reason, it can be easy to start assigning blame to pretty much anything under the ☀⠀
⠀
The danger there is that you can begin to fear food, fear stress, fear your clothing, fear the outside...⠀
.⠀
And before you know it, you feel like everything has become your skin's enemy.⠀
⠀
But where we're often not recommended to look is INSIDE.⠀
⠀
Those inside triggers are just as important as external factors.⠀
⠀
If you haven't yet considered what might be going on INSIDE your body that's triggering your #skinissues, now's your opportunity to start digging!⠀
⠀
What's your biggest pet peeve about your skin?⠀
⠀
And what hidden triggers have you found or suspect are causing problems under the surface?⠀

My skin care routine
.
I didn’t always have naturally vibrant skin. In my 20’s I was plagued with adult acne But here’s what I do now to keep my skin looking vibrant
.
I use all natural, high quality products
.
I'm partial to below products:
The oil cleansing balm by BeautyCounter
The exfoliating toner called Lotion P50 PIGM 400 by Biologique Research
A great vitamin C product and Hyaluronic acid serum
.
.
.
....but, the truth is that my biggest skin changes came from the inside! I do:
.
1️⃣Take a multivitamin--yup, this matters!! I see too many nutrient deficiencies on the ION panels I run to not use this as backup insurance!
.
2️⃣Take daily fish oil (my favorite is OMega MonoPure by Xymogen--way better absorption in studies!), but right now I'm also taking DHA for building my baby's brain!
.
3️⃣Take probiotics-- I rotate through various of my favorites, but almost always include a spore based form like MegaSporeBiotic or TerraFlora
.
4️⃣Take liposomal vitamin C -- gotta have those antioxidants!
.
5️⃣Eat a nutrient dense, low processed food, anti-inflammatory diet with lots of superfoods weekly-- no I don't mean moringa powder and maca, although those are fine-- I mean things like salmon, blueberries, raspberries, leafy greens, broccoli, ginger in my food, turmeric, green tea, nuts and seeds, lots of grass-fed butter and olive & avocado oils!
.

I have sensitive skin and thus use nothing other than Facewash and sunscreen lotion on a daily basis. On my visit to Berkowits clinic a few days back, they gave me
1.Berkowits rehydrant face wash-This Facewash is specially for dry skin(like mine). It not only cleans off dead skin cells, remove impurities but also keeps my skin rehydrated. It is also helping me to control blackheads by opening up clogged pores.Yesterday I used it to clean makeup.I can clearly feel the softness and see the glow.
2.Berkowits Radiate VitC concentrate-Just started using it before going out.Now my skin remains protected from smoke, dust.Vit C also increases collagen and makes my skin plumper.

Raw milk, rich in B-vitamins, alpha hydroxy acids, calcium and other potent antioxidants, has so many skin benefits! It will nourish skin cells from deep within and keep skin moisturized all day. If you've got acneic skin, it will gently exfoliate and gradually cure your acne.
FOR ALL SKIN TYPES .
