Hello! It’s been a long time since I did a proper introduction on here. I’m having a little bit of a meltdown this week really doubting myself and my work so I wanted to share with you why and how I started and what I’m all about. Since I was in primary school (yep) I’ve had bigger than average boobs, I’ve been buying my bras in specialist shops since I was 13 because my proportions aren’t catered to in most places. I started making bras towards the end of my fine art degree because I couldn’t find anything in my size that felt like it was stylish. I was sharing my work on Instagram and making a few for friends for practice but tonnes of people messaged me asking if I would start selling them on a made to order basis. It seems like almost everyone has the same problem as me, finding it nearly impossible to find a bra that works for them. In the last 2 years things have absolutely taken off slightly outside of my control while I got pregnant, had my baby and have been trying to find some semblance of balance between parenthood and work. As Time has passed, environmental and social concerns have become increasingly important to me and I really consider my work on Instagram, my donations to @projectability for each set I sell, and using a large proportion of my profits to invest in buying from businesses that I believe in to be intrinsic parts of my job- not just making underwear. I try to model a transparent business practice, support others, and be forthright with my feelings and tbh it gets a little bit weirder and harder the more followers I have! I’m 90% self taught and until 2 weeks ago I’d been doing literally all of this by myself and part time. Every time I have a week where lots of things get sent back to me I think seriously about shutting it all down and doing a ‘real’ job because faking it till you make it only seems to take you so far, and there’s no resources for this work, but I honestly feel that what I’m doing is really important and I can be an example to larger companies of a brand with genuine love and goals for radical inclusion and change to the fashion industry at its heart. Anyway, that’s why I do it. Sometimes it’s good to remind myself.
Asheville, NC: I’m thrilled to offer a public panel and Mending Matters book signing on Thursday, April 11 from 6-8pm. While I’m in town for the Slow Textiles Retreat I’ll also be offering a free public conversation with some absolutely amazing local creatives.
I’ll be in conversation with Grace Casey-Gouin of @echoviewfibermill and Karie Reinertson of @shelterprotectsyou and Sarita Westrup of @tierrafirmetx and @penlandschool for this book signing and panel event, “Sustainability in Arts, Crafts, and Design” at @warrenwilsoncollege hosted by @wwcfiberarts in the Canon Lounge. What an amazing group of women!
We’ll discuss the many ways we each prioritize sustainability through our creative work and choices in eco-friendly materials, design circularity, local communities, craftsmanship, and more. I’m so excited to gather with this Asheville community and muse on all things sustainability, art, craft, and design.
Details are under the “class” page on my website. In my profile for today. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. I cannot wait to travel to Asheville and experience this incredible creativity so soon—just one week away.

I’ve had this jacket for I don’t know how many years. I’ve almost gotten rid of it or replaced it, but I’m so glad I decided to just hang onto it. It’s old fast fashion and while I wouldn’t buy it again, I’m definitely going to wear the heck out of it ☺️
