Очень советую не упустить возможность и посетить в одну из виноделен Сардинии, я уверена, что в каком бы вы уголочке острова не находились, обязательно рядышком их найдется одна или несколько.
Ведь сарды - настоящие мастера по виноделью. Их вина насыщены солнцем, морским воздухом и горными ароматами ягод и фруктов.

COMPENDIUM: serious tasting of Grüner Veltliner, Welshriesling and Sauvignon; each from same vineyard/harvest processed identically and put to age for a year into 12 different new barrique barrelss (various producers and types of wood & ) to discover & determine the influence of the barrels on the final product; I.e. 24 samples tasted within 3 hours. Differences were quite significant . .
FULL STORY: Yesterday I attended a very special tasting. Thanks to @miloshsmelko for an invitation! This was my first serious tasting where we were required to make notes and "judge" the presented wines, as the results count towards a PDH theses of the presenter.

It's an interesting project of @vinselekt_michlovsky and #bsvinarskepotreby examining the influence of barrique barrels on white wine varietals. They harvested five different varietals in 2016 and put them into 12 different new barrique casks for a year (till next harvest).
In my opinion that's really too long for a NEW barrique but the logistics played a crucial role here ♂️. It's not easy to keep wooden barrel empty and safe for a long time. All in all it makes 60 unique wines .
We had the opportunity to try the results of a selection of three varietals; eight barrels from each = in total 24 samples.

Grüner Veltliner and Welshriesling were quit heavily influenced by the barrique taste/smell; it was only Sauvignon which managed to keep significantly its characteristics in the smell and taste. It was very very interesting to see really great differences in the final products caused purely by the barrel - grapes were harvested all at the same time from the same vineyard and the technology was identical for all of the wines (fermentation and aging in the casks).
I could taste different herbal/floral notes, different acidity and in one sample even salinity for Sauvignon wines. Thing is my taste buds were overwhelmed after 16 samples so I was not really able to "judge" Welshriesling properly. .
I’m very glad I could take part in this experiment. Vertical and comparative tastings where you can discover the differences between vintages or influence of technology/terroir are my favorite ones.
One of the gifts I was given and value the most in my life is that when I like something it lasts for good. Music and wine are the best examples. My taste and preferences evolve and develop over the time but I am simply just widening my horizon and taking in more and more styles which I like . Occasionally I come back to things I fancied many years ago and enjoy them still.
At the moment I am enjoying the most dry and older wines (whites and reds alike), exploring the natural/skincontact /low intervention wines but from time to time I open some crowd pleaser with residual sugar and enjoy it too.

This semisweet Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2018 would be mundane for an experienced wine lover but ideal bait for those who are entering the world of wine from scratch. It tastes like compote with a bit of fresh acidity.

The best characteristics was given by the winemaker himself during his tasting in @vinocentrum when he said "if it wasn't me making this wine I wouldn't believe it's been made of grapes at all"

Chateau de Pommard is a beautiful old family owned winery built in 1726, and now under construction to turn it into a high end hotel and restaurant.
I had a visit with tour and tasting, but to be honest, the family spirit was nowhere to be seen and it felt more like a museum with an international concern it charge. The aim is undoubtedly foreigners tourist groups with a lot of money to spend, and that kind of places makes it difficult for me to fall in love with.
However the wines was very good, and that always helps a lot.
The old vines in the picture are planted in 1906, just after the devastation of phylloxera, and the beautiful cover weeds and flowers witness a biodynamic viticulture.

The bouquet opens up with lovely subtle notes of raspberries, mushrooms, caramelized sugar, cacao beans, herbs and figs.
The palete is well balanced with medium acidity to match the discreet fruit. The tannins are polished and fully integrated, with a light texture and medium bodie. It has notes of fennel, dried fruits and floral notes.
This is a very well structured and lovely wine, with a classic expression. .
