Make Space* is a new photo series I’ve started that features inspiring women on Salt Spring Island living in unique spaces to make room for a more creative, fulfilling lifestyle. My first subject is Nina Pickstone. Nina is only 19 years old and built her beautiful tiny home when she was 17! She has few possessions but the ones she has count. She makes her own ceramics, and many of her own clothes. Many of the pieces and details in her tiny home she sourced herself (recycled materials), or made herself. Her tiny home is mobile, and currently resides in her family’s orchard, minutes away from the beach. When she’s not in the studio making ceramics, or sewing beautiful linen pieces, she is making delicious food at Francis Bread, or weaving under the mentorship of the women behind wovenwares.
