@monkishbrewing @tiredhandsbrewing @omnipollo Monkish Brewing x Tired Hands Brewing x Omnipollo collab - Space Food Cotton Candy Space Cookie Piña Colada Double Milkshake IPA, Torrance CA | The “Cream Team” as they call it got together and made a crazy double milkshake IPA. Was brewed with milk sugar, cookies, lemon zest, pineapple, coconut flakes and vanilla beans then dry hopped with citra, mosaic and galaxy. Pretty insane combo but it works! Nice sweet creaminess to the beer. Get a lot of vanilla and some pineapple to me. Be cool to of had that coconut and cookies shine more but maybe from the hops it over powered a bit. Got some nice heat at the end which was killer to balance out the sweetness in my opinion. Awesome milkshake but think I still like space cookie more still! Love that cookie taste and this would’ve been over the top if it had that
There has always been a strong food science presence at NASA, because there are a lot of food-related challenges unique to space travel. In honor of International Women’s Day, I present Michele Perchonok, a female food scientist icon. For years, she worked for NASA. Space travel requires foods with long shelf lives, that can be consumed in zero gravity (no crumbs…), that do not take up too much space, and that meet the emotional needs of astronauts who will be eating nothing else for up to 6 months. To learn more about space food and Michele Perchonok, check out the Day in the Life of a NASA Food Scientist video on YouTube. (Also, sorry about the blurry pic— I couldn’t find a better one )
