They say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. I feel that so acutely right now. So I thought I would share a few of the things that I shared at his funeral. Wonderful things that he taught me. 1️⃣ Don’t sweat the small stuff. When we were first married I told him that “I was so sick of being the only one worrying about this”. With a gentle smile he said, “then stop worrying” 2️⃣ Work hard. From the moment I met him he was dreaming up different business ideas and ways to earn an extra buck. He was a hard worker and seemed to find joy in being the provider for our family. 3️⃣ Play hard. ‍♂️This was huge for Dan. He worked SO THAT he could play. He taught me how to enjoy life more and gave me permission to play. He taught me that time didn’t also need to have a purpose....sometimes the purpose was just to sit back and enjoy life. 4️⃣ Go after your dreams.✈️ He always wanted to get his pilot’s license. He and his brother did some research and discovered that a large part of the expense was the plane rental for lessons. So they found a plane on eBay for $27,000, found some partners, bought the plane, and then sold it when they were done. 5️⃣ Family is everything. ‍‍‍ He put family first. Me, the kids, his dad, his mom, his siblings, date nights, family trips, brother trips, etc. ...for him, his greatest joy came from family. 6️⃣ Look beyond the limits. He was amazing at this. There was nothing he couldn’t do or couldn’t accomplish if he wanted it enough. He learned how to build a swimming pool (3 times), he learned how to import cars, he learned how to develop land, he learned how to travel the world on a dime. He was my biggest cheerleader and taught me to live fearlessly. 7️⃣ Unconditional Love. He showed me that true love is seeing someone...really seeing someone ...all the strengths, all the weaknesses..even the skeletons trying to hide in the shadows...and saying, “I see you..all of you..and I love every bit of it.” Every breathing person deserves to know this kind of love (and deserves to offer it). This journey ....the whole point... is ALL ABOUT LOVE ❤️

I heard myself laugh tonight. It sounded nice. Truthfully it felt nice. It’s been 16 days. My world still feels a little foggy. A lot foggy actually. When I saw the text early this morning asking if I wanted to go to dinner, my gut reaction was “NO.” But I sat with it a minute. Through this experience I have learned that saying “yes” has been healing... Not necessarily because of what was being offered but because of the connection it brought. Even on my worst days, I can’t deny the power of connection. In fact, on my last post, when I was feeling just so sad...I almost wrote “Please don’t leave any comments”...I was just in “that place” and I wanted to be left there to wallow. And I’m sure there will be more of those days. But the comments and the kindness and the prayers and the generosity and the pure goodness of humanity has been pouring in ...and it is SO HEALING. When I want to drown myself in sorrow, the connection gently reaches in and says “how about tomorrow...you can be sad tomorrow... today I’ll just sit with you a bit.” So tonight I said “yes”. Yes to dinner with some friends. And we laughed. And it felt good. And going to sleep tonight in a big empty bed feels just a little less painful. I hope that someday...in someway...I can offer to others what has been so generously offered to me. I am hurting ... so deeply... but slowly I am healing.

August is here. The pool is nice and warm. Perfect time to catch a tan or some out on your hammock. Or, while everyone else is doing that... you can HIT AUGUST SO HARD that September runs for cover! Triple down while they lay down.

There are days that bring tears in your eyes . Tears of joy . So , was this day . It was bright Monday afternoon , I wasn’t in a very good mood , was thinking about life . How to go about things ? How to make them count . I receive a call from an unknown number , Akanksha . I asked her “ who is this ? “ just when she said “ I am from the speaker team of Tedx “ I was shocked . I stood up and couldn’t tell how I felt . Right from there I then spoke to Mulchand Sir who takes care of the speaker team . The team believed in my idea . Worked with me and then finally when he said “ This is going to be an amazing performance “ . I wanted to tell all of you . Then the flex comes with not so good picture of mine . You already are what you want to be. You wouldn’t want something if you didn’t think you were capable of it. So instead of trying to “achieve” something, just be it. Because you already are what you want. You’re already worthy, loving, kind, generous. Stop “studying” for the test when you’ve already gotten the A. Today, I challenge you to stop trying to be the person you want to be and settle in to the comfort of knowing that you already are that person.

How big is your love? . We brought in a hospital bed yesterday. It shouldn’t mean anything ...and yet it did. When I tucked him in last night he closed his eyes almost immediately. . I wasn’t ready to say good-night but his breathing indicated that he had already fallen asleep. . My heart sank a little. I bent over and whispered, “Tell me that you love me”... for some reason I just needed to hear it. I just needed to be reminded. . He surprised me and gently whispered back, “I love you”... followed by ...”in a hundred languages I love you” ... . I kissed him good-night and my broken heart clung to our love. “It’s so hard because our love is so big”, I thought. How lucky. How lucky to know this kind of love. . I share only because I hope our story can help you to cling to all the love in your life. That you will hold on to it. Work for it. Cherish it. And of course, express it. Because sometimes...even when they know...they just need to hear it

Some people wonder how I'm able to speak in public since I was often quiet in the past. I started speaking up and presenting after realizing how valuable the information can be for people. I also present online for those who don’t attend events like these. They usually still gain value even though it’s not in person!
