Copywriting 101. The first step to writing sales copy like a pro. Sound like a HUMAN.
Have you ever heard a human being say things like “this revolutionary technology is disrupting the future of artificial intelligence” or “our software can systematically optimize your database?”
There’s a misconception that businesses have to use jargon and stuffy vocabulary to sound smart and be taken seriously. But if we want to CONNECT with our audience, we have to sound like a person with real emotions. Not a robot with zero feelings who doesn’t like puppies.
So next time you’re writing promotional copy, read it out loud. And ask yourself: Do my words flow easily? Did I simplify it as much as possible? Is it in language that my neighbors or relatives would understand?

How many of you have just been thinking of doing business and have not even taken the first step until now?

There could be various reasons like fear, confidence, money, risk, time, idea etc. But, let me tell you, most of these are excuses. Every problem in our life is solvable. Every hurdle in life can be surpassed. It just depends on our attitude and determination to do it.

There are two types of people in the world. First, the ones who keep cribbing about the situations and problems. Second, the ones who change their own lives. It’s not that difficult to be the second one. You have the potential in you. It is just to be invoked. Sometimes it cannot be done by you just alone. So, I can help you invoke your hidden potential.

Because you are the best in the world and second to none. You can achieve whatever you desire. But, you have to be confident about yourself. You should not sit and crib.

You should take that “FIRST STEP”.

Unless you take that first step you cannot move towards your success. You remain wherever you are all throughout your life. The first step appears to be the most difficult but its actually the easiest.

Why?

Because before you take the first step you are NOTHING. So, after taking the first step you are bound to only gain and not to lose. At the maximum, you may end up in a failed business. But that does not matter. You started from zero. So, you lost nothing. In fact, you have gained a lot of wisdom and experience running your business. I believe chances of failure are very less if any business is done wisely under proper guidance.

So, what are you waiting for still? It’s going to be today or no other day. It’s now or never! Take your FIRST STEP towards your success this moment.
Which one do you think is the most important?
Large sums of money and strong connections won't matter for the success of a business if its founder does not have the desire to crush the competition.
It's fine if you plan on one day selling your company for a large sum of money, but that goal cannot distort your judgment in scaling the company.
Any company, regardless of management issues, can be made to scale if they've developed an audience.
When it's just you and a few employees in the trenches, don't worry about the software and hardware everyone else in your industry is using. Stick with what you know and move onto better products and company-wide standards once you've established your footing.
And finally, make sure that your employees enjoy their work and aren't burning out.
Cuban writes that at his first company, MicroSolutions, he would hand out $100 bills to his salespeople when they had a record month, and made a ritual of occasionally going to a local bar after work and ripping Kamikaze shots as a team.

The number one question I get from businesses is 'how do I get more followers'?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Which troubles me, because the question SHOULD be 'how can I use social to get me more business?' In which case, the focus becomes more about trying to attract people to your social accounts that may actually one day do business with you, rather than followers for followers sake. There's a very important distinction there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now we have that clear, I want to simplify things when it comes to the 'more followers' question. Social media - at the end of the day - isn't hard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's a value exchange, plain and simple. People will like your stuff and follow your page ONLY if there's something in it for them. If you're overly promotional, or you aren't helpful in the content that you produce, or you're just plain BORING? You're not providing them with enough for them to give you a 'like'.

Imagine you're in a shop. You find a book you like, and you pay the cashier $20 for it. They get money, you get the book. It's the same with social. In order to get a 'like', you need to be providing something valuable in return.

Don’t sell! That’s not value. Instead, think about how you can HELP people? Educate them? Assist them to make a decision? Entertain them? List 20 things you can do to help your ideal client and craft posts around it. With no expectation. WIthout being salesly. Without there being anything in it for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just add value.
