This is getting interesting, after I posted the chat from the #medviewgate issue, a very dear friend and HR professional sent me a DM and I told her that I understand her opinion perfectly well, but given the circumstances at hand I am still of the opinion that the leadership of the cabin serves department as failed their people, and this act is very common in this department, I’ve been in this industry for a while now to have seen it unravel in my career many times. . . I got this chat this morning from someone who’s not sure of what could befall them and the whole of my inside went on tumbling, yet these group of professionals are expected to smile like all is well and give the best of service to the traveling public who most likely have no clue of their pain yet they will curse the daylight out of them when there’s a delay. . . It’s about time we start saying things the way there are, I for one I’m getting exhausted of the lackadaisical attitude of the regulatory body not handling these issues as they are slowly becoming the norm in the sector. . . Don’t come and tell me we are shouting on social media in the comment section, NCAA, and all regulators are aware, yet they act like they can not be bothered. All the airlines are guilty of this and it’s about time we get into this, we owe it to the next generation of aviators . . Change they say start with us... it starts with ME. . . MoMagic•

I had a bad experience at work yesterday. For whatever reason I’m not so sure why I went outside to monitor the loading of passenger’s luggage and cargo earlier than I usually do, luckily for me I noticed they were loading the luggage of another destination on the aircraft I was supposed to work on, so I quickly averted the error. . . That error led to few more errors, the sitting configuration and the catering was also affected, some passengers had to be upgraded to sit in the business class of the aircraft as all economy seats were fully occupied. . . On matters like this, we are required to send a situation report mail, the mail came from another department, but the blaming game was initiated, I was so furious as to why would this be the basis of the message? I knew the error was made by a member of my team. This other team saw the mixup but decided to the the exact opposite, why couldn’t they put a call through? Where is the team spirit? Then a derogatory response was sent to my teammate. Most times we keep quite or ignore when we get these types of mail, and let things slide. But lately I’ve been asking myself why do we have to work in a hostile environment? . . A lot of us don’t like to admit when we are wrong because we are either too prideful or we are too arrogant. . . You can not learn a new perspective if you always think you can never be wrong. . . Stop the blaming game, take responsibilities for your actions, be accountable for your results and take ownership of your mistakes. All of these things are what makes you unique. . . Enjoy your day.

We're taught all our lives to "silence" the negativity. "Ignore" the name calling and if we don't "react"the bullies will get bored. Guess what? They don't. Silencing and ignoring bullies let's them continue to bully and makes the victim internalize the abuse and become self hating, insecure, depressed, anxious and sometimes suicidal. It's time bystanders called out bullies on their nastiness. It's time we started naming and shaming our bullies. It's time we taught our children and colleagues to stand up to their bullies and it's time we started recognising that bullying doesn't only take place in school playgrounds or on social media. Bullying follows us into our adult hood and our working lives. Bullying is ALWAYS present. STOP BULLYING BE KIND
