If you’ve ever been to Havasupai you know what a paradise it is. A bright red canyon lined with breathtaking waterfalls and bright blue water calm the soul. If your lucky enough to acquire a permit it’s an awesome experience. Probably one of the more picturesque places in America. It requires a bit of a hike to reach the campground, about 10 miles, but it’s well worth it. ☀️⛺️

Travel. As much as you can. As far away as you can. Wherever you can. Because when we travel we discover how small of a speck we are on this never ending planet. At least I do, anyway. Who wants to take partake in May travels with me?!? •

Reminiscing on my trip to Havasupai as permits go out tomorrow to visit this year! For anyone interested in visiting the beautiful homelands of the Havsuwʼ Baaja (People of the Blue-Green Waters), I encourage you to learn more about the history of the Havsuwʼ Baaja and their ancestral lands. From getting land stolen by the US Government and ending with a plot of land of 518 acres (Executive Order in 1882) to being actively pushed out by the National Park Service after Grand Canyon became a “National Park.” From the constant battles to acquire ancestral lands back to the current fights to oppose uranium mining exploration occurring upstream and around the canyon. It’s important history and one that resonates with many indigenous groups on a national and international level. I didn’t know all of this until after my trip and there is always room to learn more. Thankful to the Havsuwʼ Baaja for letting us experience their homelands, and I hope that all of those that do go take care of this special place ✨ #TBT
It’s been a hard pill to swallow knowing that we don’t have reservations for this magical place this year. After being down here every year for the last five, I am super bummed! The nice thing is being able to look back at the photos and mentally transport to these incredible moments. We might not be headed back anytime soon, but Supai has not seen the last of me and that’s for sure!✨♀️
