Although the swell wasn't as big as the forecast suggested, there was a notable jump in wave height yesterday.⁣ ⁣ A bonus of a less than huge swell is that some sections of the Uluwatu reef can get quite hollow at this size. A stiff offshore helped keep things round during the afternoon.

The online forecasters have been fairly accurate lately, so we can probably cut some slack with the predicted swell that didn't show up yesterday/today.⁣ ⁣ Anyway, here's a çouple of waves from last week at Uluwatu.⁣ ⁣ We're slap bang in the middle of swell season, so hopefully it won't be long until we get some more of this ⁣ ⁣

While the Rip Curl Cup was running at Padang Padang (see the previous post), it's less refined big brother Outside Corner at Uluwatu was doing this.⁣ ⁣ I heard the swell pulsed and conditions smoothed out towards the end of the day.

The new swell arrived today. They ran the Rip Curl Cup at pumping Padang Padang. Guns came out and regular folk retreated.⁣ ⁣ Yesterday was a whole different story, and Impossibles was one of the better ones.⁣ ⁣ Very groomed, straight lines stacked to the horizon (between some lengthy lulls) all morning long.
