Anybody who knows us know we love to travel, so a quick 3 hr flight over the ditch to New Zealand for a long weekend is nothing out of the ordinary for us. We stumbled across Takatu Lodge and Vineyard a few years ago scouring expedia for somewhere new to stay in Auckland. It is a tad over one hours drive north of the city. We have stayed there a few times now and haven't been disappointed. It only has four rooms, they're huge, and most of them have views over the vineyards. This is the view looking east towards Omaha Bay and Hauraki Gulf. Discovering vast, untouched coastline on Auckland’s north coast... Pakiri Beach is about 20 minutes drive from where we stayed up on a hill amongst the vineyards in Matakana, at Takatu Lodge and Vinyard @takatu_lodge A great base for exploring this gorgeous region, filled with untouched beaches, world class vineyards and top class restaurants and cafes abound.
